Homeland season 7 trailer unveils a homegrown threat

A Look Back at Season 6: After she thwarted a terrorist attack in Berlin, season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison (Danes) living in Brooklyn, New York. After the victory of current President Donald Trump, Homeland's direction changed and Keane, following an assassination attempt on her life, turns into an authoritarian who will do anything to keep power intact.

When we last left "Homeland" at the end of season six, Carrie saw the President elect of the United States go against her word by arresting more than 200 members of the USA intelligence apparatus after an assassination attempt was made on her life.

"I'm bringing you a federal agent to testify against the government about some of the most expansive civil rights abuses in the history of our nation" Carrie says in one scene. "The founding fathers foresaw the dark day when we would face a president like her". The trailer shows Carrie Mathison going rogue in order to tackle graft at the White House under the tyrannical administration of President Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). She arrested the 200 intelligence community members without even pressing charges against them, including Saul Berenson (Mandy Patinkin).

In an interesting twist Saul, who had been detained and was in prison, somehow ends up in a prominent role in the White House.

Tell us, HollywoodLifers - What do YOU think about Homeland's season seven trailer? "Homeland" bosses previously suggested that they have planned to make season 8 as the drama's last installment. Along with the trailer comes the announcement the show will return on February 11, 2018 in the 9 PM EST timeslot.
