Penn State's James Franklin looks ready to fight someone after Gatorade bath

Will the Washington Huskies pull off a small upset Saturday afternoon when they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl at 4:00 p.m. ET? The Nittany Lions also have a stout defense but the Huskies' D is slightly better, surrendering just 14.5 points per game and 278.3 yards per contest, which ranks fifth and sixth in the nation, respectively.

Franklin took a second, stood there, and then ran through his players looking very angry.

Everyone wants to focus on the Penn State backfield of Saquon Barkley and Trace McSorley but Washington's duo is just as good.

Franklin did go on to compliment his players in a postgame interview, so whatever anger he had seemed to pass quickly. McSorley, who threw for 342 yards, tallied his second touchdown pass of the game on a 24-yard pass to Hamilton with 5:59 remaining in the third. He also ripped off a 13-yard touchdown run on a read-option keeper, assaulting the ankles of Mississippi State defensive back Johnathan Abram and side-stepping a diving tackler before slipping into the end zone.

Mayor: 2 dead in shooting, 1 wounded but stable
Authorities told the Press-Telegram in Long Beach that multiple people were transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. Police searched the law firm where the shooting occurred and also checked a satellite office elsewhere in Long Beach.

Penn State's 545 yards were most Washington gave up this season, and the Huskies had not given up more than 30 points in a span of 26 games, since the 2015 Heart of Dallas Bowl. He finished with five catches for 122 yards and two scores. He's topped 1,000 yards in each of his first three seasons in Seattle. A hook-and-lateral play netted big yardage for Washington on a 4th-down play, but an unnecessary lateral with still time on the clock gave Penn State the ball and ended the game. Myles Gaskin is an absolute stud and Jake Browning has loads of experience after starting as a freshman two years ago.

Miles Sanders countered with 1-yard touchdown run before Barkley broke his 92-yarder for a 28-7 lead after Washington's pooch punt pinned the Nittany Lions deep.

NOTES: Penn State played one of the most remarkable Fiesta Bowls in history in a 14-10 victory over No. 1 Miami, Fla., to conclude the 1986 season and win the most recent of its two consensus national championships. Utah, the only victor, was invited to the Heart of Dallas Bowl as a replacement because Conference USA did not have enough bowl qualifiers.
