DeRozan explodes for 52 points in OT win against Bucks

It's a Happy New Year indeed for DeRozan's fantasy owners.

In daily fantasy basketball, finding players you want to roster is a lot easier than finding players to avoid.

Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan scored a franchise-record 52 points Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, becoming the first player in National Basketball Association history to post a 50-point game on New Year's Day.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Jimmy Butler scored 28 points, and Minnesota won for the seventh time in eight games.

Kyle Lowry had 26 points and Serge Ibaka added 11 for the Raptors, who also won 12 straight at Air Canada Centre between January 18 and March 6, 2016.

NEW YORK (AP) - Rookie Jarrett Allen had a career-high 16 points for Brooklyn, and Allen Crabbe added 15 points and blocked a potential tying shot.

Aaron Gordon had 20 points and 12 rebounds for Orlando, which has lost its last seven road games.

The 23-year-old put his freakish athleticism and explosiveness on display with a tantalizing play by throwing a two-hand dunk over three defenders on Monday night against the Toronto Raptors.

DeRozan is the third player in Raptors history to score 50 or more in a single game.

The Toronto Raptors look for another victory after winning seven of their last nine games.

The Raptors did as well as any team could in harnessing Antetokounmpo, who came into the game second in the league in soring averaging 29.1 points per game. He made three three-pointers in the 12 minutes and was one point off the all-time franchise record for points in a quarter, set two seasons ago by Lowry. Though things were close in the second half, Toronto couldn't slow Giannis Antetokounmpo who finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and four assists, or Khris Middleton who led the Bucks with 24 points.

In the 10-game stretch that began Monday, Toronto will face elite teams - Golden State, Cleveland and San Antonio - along with surprising Detroit, red-hot Chicago with a road game against the Bucks thrown in.
