Antonio Conte gets very salty over Mourinho 'clown' comments

It's hardly a secret that Conte and the man who of course was seen as a Chelsea legend by many fans - and by some still is - do not see eye to eye, and it seems that Conte can not help but take the bait where Mourinho is concerned.

Conte also renewed his attack on Mourinho with a barely-disguised criticism of his own, referring to "other persons" who regularly turn their weekly news conferences into a spectacle.

"What never happened to me - and will never happen - is to be suspended for match fixing".

Antonio Conte's Chelsea are now third in the EPL standings as they are one point behind José Mourinho's Manchester United. Honestly. I don't blame him, I think the press should apologise to me and him. You said Mourinho said you behaved as a clown.

"I don't blame him", said Mourinho after Manchester United's 2-0 FA Cup third round win over Derby at Old Trafford on Friday.

The Blues' boss further added: "When you forgot what you say in the past, your behaviours, and when you totally forgot, you must be anxious as it means you are becoming old and you need a check".

Ten Americans killed in Costa Rica plane crash
The plane burst into flames when it hit the ground, killing all 12 people on board, officials had said earlier. State Department confirmed that "multiple U.S. citizens" died in the crash.

This appeared to be a reference to when Conte was implicated in a 2011 match fixing scandal involving his former club Siena - he was ultimately cleared of any wrongdoing in the case. Maybe, sometimes, I think that someone forgets what's said in the past, which is his behaviour.

There is no love lost between the pair and the Chelsea manager felt his patience snap after hearing comments from Mourinho on Thursday.

It is a bit rich for a manager with Mourinho's history of bombastic celebrations to be critical of another, even if Conte has become famous for his passionate reactions during matches. The question iscompletely wrong and because of that it is an out of control reaction.

Conte claimed on Friday that Mourinho must be "senile" and suffer from "dementia," as he apparently forgot the ways in which a younger Mourinho once acted on the sideline.

Asked whether he wanted to respond to Conte's barb, Mourinho told a news conference: "I don't blame him". And then the question to the Chelsea manager was like I told [them] that he behaved like a clown.

Conte penned an improved deal with Chelsea last summer after a superb first campaign at the helm, but his deal was not extended any further and he now only has 18 months left on his current terms.
