The company will also offer 20 per cent more data to users of Rs 399 plan by enhancing its validity by two weeks under its Happy New Year 2018 offer, sources added.

This plan revision comes just a couple of days after Reliance Jio announced ₹50 off on some of its prepaid plans while also offering 50% more data on some other prepaid plans. The Rs 448 tariff plan on Airtel network now offers unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and 1GB data per day for 84 days, whereas the Rs 509 plan provides the same for 91 days.

All Jio plans will continue to offer free unlimited calling and SMSes within India even during roaming. In percentage terms, the rate cut ranges between 8 on the 91-day validity pack to 25 on the 28-day validity pack.

Having said that, at the time of writing this, Airtel's ₹448 and ₹509 prepaid plans aren't available in all the circles, hence, do check the price of a prepaid plan, data offered and the validity before you recharge. Details of the plans, such as the data allocation, calling, and SMS benefits as well as access to free apps, will remain the same as before.

Jio is the fourth largest telecom operator across the country, with the combined share of the top four being 27.7%.

Airtel also revised its Rs 799 prepaid plan last week. Now, the brand has extended the validity and it comes with a validity of 91 days. FUP or daily data limit is 1GB. The company offers 28GB data for 28 days.

The company is all set for the new offers and reports are coming that soon users are going to get the benefits. The plan also offers unlimited local and STD calls with unlimited SMS. More data-intensive users can cast their eyes to the new Rs 349 pack which offers 70GB of data over the course of 70 days. One of the biggest changes in the data plan is making the lower plans much more beneficial and value for money.
