There's a triple slot housing two SIM cards and one microSD alongside them, and a fingerprint scanner is included on the back.

The press conference also revealed that, in response to Apple and Samsung, ASUS kitted the Zenfone 5 and 5Z out what it calls Zenimoji.

Asus has made a decision to go with a dual SIM and microSD card slot for the phone and has placed a 20MP Sony IMX 376 sensor coupled with a 120-degree wide-angle lens and the front comes with a 16MP sensor and a 120 degrees wide-angle camera as well. The camera also comes with night HDR and AI scene detection feature like the 5Z variant. The phone is backed by a 3300mAh battery. The dual-cameras are aligned vertically instead of the conventional horizontal set-up seen on Asus smartphones and there's a single LED flash sitting below the dual-camera set up on the smartphone.

During a pre-briefing in Barcelona, an Asus rep brushed aside inevitable questions about copying Apple. How well they work will be interesting considering Asus do not have a huge Android footprint.

This is real AI since the phone is using machine learning to not only identify pictures, but to make the adjustments according to your preferences and what makes the photo look best. Hopefully we can get our hands on one to check it out.

MobileSyrup has reached out to Asus for Canadian pricing and availability and will update this article when it arrives.

Other specifications of the Asus Zenfone 5Z are 12MP +12MP rear camera with 1.4µm pixel size. The Zenfone 5 comes with 4 or 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage.

The front camera on the Asus Zenfone 5Z is 8MP. The cameras seem to be the same specifications as the 5Z but will lack the PDA and four axis OIS of the 5Z.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane praises Cristiano Ronaldo after selfless penalty act
Vazquez passed for Ronaldo to fire in his second goal, and Bale earned a penalty in the 89th that Benzema converted. He added: "After our game against PSG, we have been doing much better, maybe we needed a game like that".

The phone comes in Midnight Blue and Meteor Silver colors. Just before you wake up, it then resumes charging so you can wake up to a full battery.

For photography, the smartphone sports a dual-camera setup which is a combination of 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor with f/1.4 aperture and a 120-degree wide-angle camera.

On the software side of things, the Zenfone 5 Lite will run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box which will be layered with ZenUI 5.0 which is the company's freshly baked custom UI.

Asus didn't say anything about battery life, but did note that all three Zenfone varieties have a 3300-mAh battery.

The phone has a 6-inch 2,160x1,080 display, and an 80.3% screen-to-body ratio, which is commendable for a "lite" version.

Other than these, details are scarce about the other variants of the Zenfone 5 series. At the front, you get dual camera setup again consisting of a 20MP Sony IMX376 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 8MP sensor with 120-degree wide-angle lens. The phone also holds a solution if you're anxious about overheating from heavy use, with four 0.06mm thick carbon fiber cooling pads that reduce the heat from the Snapdragon 845. Asus also introduced a new feature called Zenmoji, and as the name itself suggests, it's a rip off to iPhone X's Animoji feature.

Asus have produced a lot of phones in recent years with every little addition getting a brand new moniker.
