She also says USOC concealed its knowledge of Nassar's molestation of minor female gymnasts - despite the fact they knew as early as 2015. The lawsuit alleges he sometimes had an erection, according to NBC News.

Nassar, former USA Gymnastics President Steve Penny and Chairman of the Board Paul Parilla are also named as individual defendants in the complaint, which asks for a jury trial.

Raisman, several high-profile gymnasts and two US senators had been calling for his ouster for weeks. The suit alleges Nassar began grooming Raisman shortly after she joined the US junior national team.

Raisin's complaint, filed in California, claims that she was molested at at Karolyi Ranch National Training Center in Texas, at competitions and during the London Olympics in 2012, per ABC News.

He will most likely spend the rest of his life in prison after pleading guilty to federal child pornography charges and 10 counts of criminal sexual conduct in MI.

Raisman's lawsuit claims both organizations failed to set protocols to monitor Nassar and his work. He admitted to using his position of authority as a renowned osteopathic doctor at Michigan State and the national medical coordinator for USA Gymnastics to abuse children.

Moore's older sister Kamerin said Nassar also abused her. Kamerin Moore mentioned her brother during Nassar's sentencing hearing this year, recalling that she "watched him frantically search the Internet, trying to find some proof that the chi in his shoulder is somehow connected to his genitals".

In a statement on Friday, Raisman explained why she believes her lawsuit is necessary to achieve justice, saying, "It has become painfully clear that these organizations have no intention of properly addressing this problem".

Nassar was sentenced to up to 175 years in prison after having been found to have sexually harassed more than a hundred young women.

The lawsuit was filed on the same day USOC CEO Scott Blackmun announced his resignation, citing health issues.

Nassar allegedly had freedom to molest the gymnasts under the guise of medical treatments - sometimes with a United States of America gymnastic trainer present.

During the sentencing hearings, gymnasts described their ordeal while being treated by Nassar, who was known as the go-to doctor for Olympic gymnasts.

"After all this time, they remain unwilling to conduct a full investigation, and without a solid understanding of how this happened, it is delusional to think sufficient changes can be implemented", Raisman, who is seeking a trial by jury, released in a statement.
