Bradley Airport reports flight cancellations due to storm

Freezing weather conditions are disrupting flights from airports across the UK.

Edinburgh airport tweeted: "Edinburgh Airport will close fully from 6pm this evening".

We have flown 31% of our schedule today.

Shannon also today handled a United Airlines flight diversion (UA2740) from Brussels which was due to land in Dublin but landed safely at Shannon Airport at 10.16am.

"We will continue to update passengers via our website and the Dublin Airport Twitter feed and Facebook account".

She said some of the food outlets will remain open in the Airport, for those forced to wait.

Aer Lingus Regional cancelled its early morning flights from Cork to Bristol, Edinburgh, Southampton and Manchester.

Airport management have advised all intending passengers to check with their airlines before heading to the airport today.

"We have reviewed our service position for the rest of the day, assessing current road conditions with the predicted weather reports".

London's Heathrow airport has been the worst hit by the snow, with around 200 flights having been proactively cancelled in order to keep the remaining 1,000-plus departures and arrivals on time. "Please check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport".

Glasgow Airport released a statement which reads: "Following heavy snow showers overnight and with a red alert still in place we will be extending the closure of the airport until 3pm on Thursday".

"Our location means that we have an excellent weather record and we play an important role whenever other airports are closed".
