Fortnite Battle Royale Announced for Mobile Devices

Epic has just announced that its PUBG-like shooter Fortnite Battle Royale is coming to mobile in its entirety. Epic tends to update Fortnite on a weekly basis, and there's alsways something getting changes, some newly-introduced items, and limited-time game modes. The Xbox One edition does not support cross-play, presumably due to Epic's partnership with Sony.

"Talking of crossplay, the developer said, "...players across devices can squad up with friends and play together.

If this business model works out, we will probably see a lot more games that will adopt cross-play and even cross progression, as it is quite a success when Sony implemented that system between the PS4 and PSVita.

According to the studio, this mobile version of the game will make relatively few compromises in terms of translating the existing version of Battle Royale to mobile platforms. Console quality graphics and action.

"Fortnite" is a battle-royale style game, where 100 online players fight against each other on a large map to become the last survivor. An "invite event" will be starting on iOS soon.

Epic Games has also posted to everyone who wants to get the app will need to sign up to the invite list. If you're invited to participate, you'll also receive friend invite codes to share with friends.

As a result, a handful of teams has scrambled to try to catch them, and another handful has decided instead to chase the future. To keep those "off nights" from hurting them in the postseason, they need to forget about being the No. 1 seed.

There's no confirmed date for Fortnite Battle Royale's mobile release and no word on whether it will be free like its console and PC counterparts. While you wait, check out the best battle royale games for iPhone and Android.

Unfortunately for Android users, the answer to when will Fortnite be on mobile is less immediate. But to clear up any confusion, think as Fortnite as two games.

You should also see a Fortnite Battle Pass which unlocks tiers, weapons and more.

The absolute closest to the full PUBG experience for mobile, at least right now, is Rules of Survival. The latter added another 4 million when it made the Xbox One debut in December.

Likewise there are no details as to when the game will roll out completely across mobile devices.
