DeShone Kizer traded to Packers in Randall deal

With three major trades on Friday, the Cleveland Browns let it be known that they intend to be taken seriously.

Minutes after they reportedly agreed to trades for two of the AFC East's most prominent players, the NFL's worst team-turned-offseason sensation got busy with another transaction, this one a deal for former Green Bay Packers first-round draft pick Damarious Randall. Teams are not permitted to announce any trades until next week. Entering the 2015 NFL Draft, he was the top-rated free safety prospect, but Green Bay made a decision to move him to cornerback where he's spent most of his career.

And the Seattle Seahawks cut ties with star cornerback Richard Sherman, who became one of the NFL's premier cornerbacks during his seven seasons with the team.

It recorded 142,000 overdoses in United States hospital emergency departments between July 2016 and September 2017. In fact, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, it's getting worse.

The move makes sense for both teams. Their depth chart now consists of 2017 second-round pick Kevin King, who is coming off shoulder surgery; Quinton Rollins, a 2015 second-round pick coming off a ruptured Achilles' tendon; and youngsters Josh Hawkins, Lenzy Pipkins, Donatello Brown and Herb Waters.

-The Philadelphia Eagles reached agreement to trade receiver Torrey Smith to the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Daryl Worley, according to multiple reports. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because they weren't authorized to release the trade information.

Overall, the move should increase the Packers' salary cap space to $20,517,391. Smith, 29, is slated to make $5 million in 2018 in the second season of a three-year, $15 million contract. He also has experience playing safety. That's second among National Football League receivers behind Antonio Brown's $17 million. Hundley looked overmatched as a starter past year and there were probably a few executives in the Packers organization that notices. He started 25 games in his two seasons with the Panthers. ESPN will have an entirely new crew working the booth this season, with Gruden having returned to coaching with the Oakland Raiders.
