If you want to check out a preview of the calling card, you can do so in a tweet from the official Treyarch Twitter account below.

In accordance with the long-running shooter series' yearly release schedule, it's developer Treyarch's turn to handle making the game after Sledgehammer Games' 2017 effort Call of Duty: WWII.

The next title in the Call of Duty franchise will be Call of Duty: Black Ops 4! .

The latest entry in the long-running first-person shooter series will be shown off during a community reveal event now scheduled for May 17.

Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is going to be released on Friday, October 12th, 2018.

The first Call of Duty: Black Ops was released back in 2010, serving as a sequel to 2008's World at War.

The race was prompted by former leader Patrick Brown's resignation on January 25 after two women accused him of sexual misconduct. Elliott initially disputed Saturday's results, alleging they stemmed from "serious irregularities" in the vote.

While it would make sense that Black Ops 2 - still hugely popular with fans - would be the project being released this year, there's always the possibility of MW2 Remastered being included instead.

Activision also revealed that "Black Ops 4" will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Activision hasn't revealed a lot of details about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 at this point in time.

It included some solid information on what the company is planning to do this year when it comes to new game releases. It was reported earlier this month that Activision will release new content for "Black Ops 3". We'd expect it will also be enhanced for PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. There's no mention yet if there will be a Nintendo Switch version of the game.

The good news for fans is that they at least know when they will be able to hear about "Call of Duty: Black Ops 4" next, and hopefully by then, more of the remaining unanswered questions will be resolved.
