Rich get richer: Minnesota Vikings inking Sheldon Richardson to one-year deal

Apparently defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson's visit in Minnesota went well.

Richardson, the 13th overall pick by the Jets in 2013, was Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowler as a sophomore before the wheels started to come off his tenure with Gang Green.

Incredibly, the Richardson signing is not the most impactful free agent acquisition Minnesota has made this offseason. The pact is for one year, according to ESPN. In Seattle, the former first-round pick racked up 27 tackles, a sack and an interception. He also had two touchdowns in 2013 while playing for the Jets.

While Richardson played well in Seattle, their defense struggled throughout the season, leading to the franchise missing the playoffs for the first time since 2011. 2014 was arguably the best year of his career thus far, setting a career high in 8 sacks, including three while playing against the Vikings in Minnesota.

When the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim launched on the Nintendo Switch previous year you probably thought that was it. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR is immediately available on the PlayStation 4 for PlayStation VR.

It's not hard to see why he'd want to join the Vikings after leaving Seattle as with the Jets, as well, as he's accustomed to playing within great defenses.

Richardson's 2017-18 season was one of his worst as a professional, but it was still an above average season for most defensive lineman.

The Minnesota Vikings had one of the best defenses in the National Football League in 2017, almost carrying them to their first Super Bowl appearance since the 1970s.
