Trump chose to sack McMaster, says report

"The Chief of Staff actually spoke to a number of staff this morning reassuring them that there were ... no immediate personnel changes at this time, that people shouldn't be concerned, we should do exactly what we do every day and that's come to work and do the very best job that we can", Sanders said during Friday's briefing.

Rex Tillerson was sacked by Trump on March 13, ending a rocky tenure as the nation's top diplomat for the former chief executive of Exxon.

Trump has expressed frustration with aides whom he believes try to "manage" him according to several current and former White House officials - and has grown exhausted of efforts by his staff to stall controversial actions they disagree with.

And even Kelly, who took the helm of the White House past year after his predecessor, Reince Priebus, was unceremoniously ousted, has been rumored to be on the outs with Trump.

But the president is privately weighing more changes, expressing frustration with certain advisers and considering possible replacements.

Kelly also made a point of communicating he's not around for a lot of Trump conversations, so can't be sure what Trump is and is not saying to people in his phone calls.

Among those possibly in the line of fire are National Security Advisor HR McMaster, Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Chief of Staff John Kelly.

His economic nationalism became the lynchpin of Trump policies, even as many of his other ideas were rebuffed by policy rivals.

Multiple White House spokespeople did not return requests for comment from the Daily News. He has told confidants he wants to rid himself of staffers who hold him back.

Here's maybe a good place to note Kelly also is reported to have joined McMaster in the Trump Tumbril.

Trump chafes at McMaster's demeanor, complaining that his aide lectures him, according to three current and former administration officials. Officials said personal tensions have led McMaster to be sidelined in some internal discussions, including a recent meeting on Venezuela sanctions, with Kelly taking on a more active role in foreign policy decisions.

Several reports recently have indicated that McMaster could be the next top official to leave the White House.

But Priebus, who was never a member of Trump's inner circle, couldn't manage the tweeting president himself, and the West Wing sank into chaos.
