Danny Welbeck could be best wide option for Arsenal in Europa League

Only the top four sides in the Premier League qualify for the Champions League, which means Arsenal's only realistic route back into European club football's elite competition is by winning the second-string Europa League.

A good response I reckon, but Wenger was also asked about the issue of fans staying away and instead of accepting that it was a protest, his answer seemed to suggest that it was only because there was not much riding on these games that so many seats were empty.

"I think always you judge a team by the way they come out of a crisis".

Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is trying to win the Europa League for the second year in a row after last season's triumph with Manchester United, but he insisted that Arsenal can't put all of their eggs in one basket and ignore the rest of the league campaign.

"I was there the other day and it's not good to see but with the prices that they pay, they've had to listen to excuses, they've watched players leave, they've watched really incompetent performances and they've still gone in their droves".

Real cruise past Las Palmas
Defender Nacho Fernandez had to be replaced in the first half because of an apparent muscle injury in his right leg. Bale's next set to play for Real Madrid , when they travel to Las Palmas this coming Saturday.

As the last Premier League club left in the competition, Arsenal are now the favorites in England to take the title, but Wenger didn't want his players to get ahead of themselves. "You judge the quality of a team by the way they recover from a crisis and I believe that is very positive on our side".

The 23-year-old told Standard Sport: "We are just trying to focus on the game".

The Gunners are sixth in the Premier League, a huge 13 points off fourth-placed arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur. "We are in the quarter-final and have to go step by step". "No, we're going to try to give our best and to win the last seven games and then to see where we can go in the Europa League", Mkhitaryan noted.

CSKA Moscow are expected to bring only around 500 fans and, while Arsenal are confident about their security arrangements, Wenger also outlined a hope that the heightened political tension between England and Russian Federation would not impact upon any supporter.
