Apple powered by 100% renewable energy worldwide

The 100pc target does not include its suppliers, of which there are thousands, though Apple said a further nine suppliers had committed to power their production facilities with clean energy, bringing the total to 23. On top of that Apple has 15 additional projects in the works, which will increase that number to 1.4 gigawatts - more than enough to power the Flux Capacitor that may or may not be in Apple's mythic vehicle.

China first overtook the United States in new renewable energy investment in 2009 (p.14), but the gap between the two only amounted to $14 billion at that time.

By changing to renewable energy, Wynn retired more than 835 geothermal and solar renewable energy credits in 2016, and expects to retire more than 850 in 2017.

"We do want to get to a point where renewables and other carbon-free energy sources actually power our operations every hour of every day", Holzle said in Google's blog post.

Last year, one of Apple's component suppliers, Ibiden, was added to that number as the first supplier in Japan to join the program after committing to 20 new renewable energy projects in Japan, including an impressive floating solar farm, to offset the energy used to produce components for Apple.

'Absolutely No Link' Between YouTube Attacker And People She Shot, Police Say
Police identified the woman in Tuesday's shooting as San Diego resident Nasim Najafi Aghdam , who was in her late 30s. As officers entered they found one victim at the front of the building with an apparent gunshot wound, Jackson said.

In 2014 Apple announced that all of their data centers were running on renewable energy, and up until today 96% of Apple's other operations had been using environmentally friendly energy sources too.

The company also says that Apple Park, the tech giant's new headquarters in Cupertino, California, is now the largest LEED Platinum-certified office building in North America.

According to Apple's CEO Tim Cook, "We're committed to leaving the world better than we found it".

Apple continues to urge suppliers to use more clean energy, claiming that they will have "a leg up" on competitors for Apple's business, Jackson stated. Once those are completed, it will have more than 1.4 gigawatts of clean capacity across 11 countries. It is powered by 100 percent renewable energy from multiple sources, including a 17-megawatt onsite rooftop solar installation and four megawatts of biogas fuel cells, and controlled by a microgrid with battery storage. Google had purchased a sizeable amount of renewable energy in 2017 to cover all of its electricity consumption world-wide. Apple's biggest link in the supply chain, Foxconn, has yet to sign up.
