Spotify And Hulu Launch Bundled Streaming Package

Spotify And Hulu Launch Bundled Streaming Package

Streaming giants Hulu and Spotify are joining forces to offer a dual video and music streaming subscription.

Spotify and Hulu have extended their partnership beyond an offer for students to bundle their music and TV streaming services in a single plan open to anyone.

If you're already a Hulu Limited Commercials subscriber, you can still take advantage of this sweet bargain, as long as you don't have any "premium" add-ons like HBO or Showtime.

Meanwhile, both Spotify and Hulu will benefit from the influx of new subscribers who couldn't before afford their services separately. It's also unclear whether this will affect the amount of users able to create accounts on a single Hulu account. The plan saves users about five dollars, as both plans would normally add up to $18.

'Absolutely No Link' Between YouTube Attacker And People She Shot, Police Say
Police identified the woman in Tuesday's shooting as San Diego resident Nasim Najafi Aghdam , who was in her late 30s. As officers entered they found one victim at the front of the building with an apparent gunshot wound, Jackson said.

By way of comparison, a basic Netflix monthly subscription is $7.99 and an Apple Music monthly subscription is $9.99. Subscribers will get the ad-free music of Spotify Premium along with more than 75,000 current and classic hit television shows and movies through Hulu. The hope is the low price will lure people in, then they'll become too addicted to cancel. Now, they're offering a version of that to everyone. But clearly these margins are much slimmer than the traditional packages offered by the streaming providers.

As streaming media services look for ways to distance themselves from the competition, Hulu and Spotify have just expanded their partnership to offer a pretty unique bundle. (Just in time for that Handmaid's Tale premiere, right?) After the trial period, you can decide if you want to continue with the full $12.99-per-month bundle.

Bundling the services makes economic sense for Hulu and Spotify, as the deal is only available to those who get billed through the package, saving Hulu and Spotify money by cutting out third party billing agencies.
