Buffon Calls Ref A Dream Killer With A Trash Can Heart

Buffon stood face to face to protest against the last gasp penalty awarded against his team in the last minute of their second leg quarter-final against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu, Wednesday night.

The veteran shot stopper was shown red in the 93rd minute by referee Michael Oliver who had awarded a spot kick in favour of Real and Buffon may have used foul language in protest.

A raging Gianluigi Buffon tore into English referee Michael Oliver after a controversial penalty ended Juventus hope of an epic comeback in the Champions League.

The penalty call came after Juventus defender Medhi Benatia tried to keep Lucas Vazquez from scoring from close range after Ronaldo headed down a ball back toward the area.

Speaking to Sky Sport Italia, he said: "The referee lost the plot, I accept that. Lucas was tackled from behind and if they don't give him the penalty, it's a goal", he said via Sky Sports.

Following the game, a clearly irate Buffon didn't hold back in his assessment of Oliver, suggesting the ref had a "trash can" instead of a heart and also referenced a decision in the first leg that saw striker Paulo Dybala sent off.

That added to Allegri's frustration from a first leg, stoppage time penalty not given to Juve in Turin.

After airstrike in Syria, an Israeli proxy war with Iran looms
In recent months, Israeli officials have been gravely concerned by Iran's efforts to build permanent military bases inside Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world.

"The pulse increased, but I calmed down, and I knew I'd be decisive".

"A human being can not decide the elimination of a team with such a decision".

"The most important thing is we have the technology, it exists and is in use, so we have to bring it into the Champions League". Did Gianluigi Buffon deserve to be sent off for his reaction?

"Clearly you can not have a heart in your chest, but a bag of rubbish".

He went on to say that "If a referee doesn't have the courage and personality to manage a game on the pitch, then he should sit in the stands alongside his wife and have some chips".

Although in the end, Buffon commended Real as the better team to win, "It disappointed me to leave the boys with 10 men, but I said objectively Real Madrid deserved the victory, we shake their hands and move on". We were just seconds from the end.

"We played a great game over there, left with 3-0 and today everything was in reverse".
