Aguero's season could be over after his injury setback, says Guardiola

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists that his side cannot celebrate winning the title just yet as rivals Manchester United could still catch them at the top. As soon as Chris Smalling's well-timed finish struck the back of Ederson's goal last Saturday to give United a 3-2 lead, numerous home fans at the Etihad Stadium turned to each other and lamented their collapse.

There have been suggestions that City's run of losses could be down to Guardiola's demanding style of play, but he rejected those claims saying the issues with his side are mental rather than physical.

Guardiola seems to have caught the bug.

"Aguero is injured. He was injured before the game but made a huge effort to help us for 10 to 15 minutes".

City are at Tottenham Hotspur for Saturday's late game but Guardiola revealed Agüero will not feature against Mauricio Pochettino's side, with doubts over when he will return. "Football is emotional. We can only try to focus and win at Tottenham and then Swansea".

Fury called the date of his return to the ring
But Fury was soon stripped of the IBF belt, and relinquished the WBA and WBO versions amid mental health issues. Tyson Fury will make his long-awaited comeback on June 9 against an unnamed opponent at the Manchester Arena .

Argentina worldwide Aguero came off the bench as City attempted to salvage their Champions League tie with Liverpool on Tuesday.

Aguero suffered a knee problem that kept him out for a month before the Argentina striker managed two second-half substitute appearances in City's last two defeats - by Manchester United in the league and Liverpool in the Champions League.

"They are magnificent players and I'm sad - we all are sad - because we are out of the Champions League, but I have to judge the way we did it". But it doesn't depend on the United result, it's in our hands, it's up to us to win our games, and we are able to win [the] two games [needed]. Now their task is to register five points from the remaining six games.

"In football it can happen, of course it can, I assure you", Guardiola told reporters.

He's close to more silverware, and a win this weekend would put them just two points away from wrapping up the league title should United beat West Brom on Sunday. As soon as we win the first one, the second one will be easier. "Hopefully he will be ready for last games and World Cup", Guardiola said of the Argentine, who was injured in a tackle by United's Ashley Young that could have resulted in a penalty.
