New York Giants: Release of Brandon Marshall is no surprise

The New York Giants are releasing wide receiver Brandon Marshall, reports Kimberley A. Martin of the Washington Post.

A failed physical designation was applied to Marshall's release, Giants general manager Dave Gettleman told Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

The New York Giants seem to be ridding themselves of all the aging talent taking up too much cap-space on the team.

Marshall missed the majority of the 2017 season, his first with the Giants, after undergoing ankle surgery.

Marshall has racked up at least 1,000 yards in eight of his 12 seasons and has over 12,000 yards for his career.
