Bill Cosby guilty on all counts at sexual assault trial

After the long reading and deliberation, jury members ended the night with no verdict, wrapping up their first day of deliberations into whether or not the comedian drugged and molested Constand on a couch in his Cheltenham, Pa. home in January 2004. He says the woman consented.

The business fallout from the verdict was nearly immediate: Bounce, a TV network that caters to black viewers, announced it would drop reruns of "The Cosby Show". Constand told jurors she was "jolted awake" by the feeling of his fingers in her vagina as she lay on a couch in Cosby's home.

Cosby, 80, faces up to 10 years years in prison after a jury concluded he sexually violated Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his suburban Philadelphia home in 2004.

During closing arguments, Cosby's lawyers slammed #MeToo, calling Cosby its victim and likening it to a witch hunt or a lynching.

It was Cosby's reputation as a public moralist that prompted a federal judge, acting in response to a request from The Associated Press, to unseal portions of the deposition.

"I could say it did", Jackson told the court, quoting Constand, who at the time was director of operations for women's basketball at Temple. They called five other women to testify against Cosby, all who claimed that they were assaulted by the former TV star. Five of the other accusers testified against him at the retrial.

While more than 60 women have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, Constand's is the only allegation to have become a criminal case.

The jury, which had to come to a unanimous decision to convict or acquit, saw a parade of accusers testify that the man once revered as "America's Dad" had a secret life of drugging and violating women.

The sedative was a popular party drug before the USA banned it more than 30 years ago. The Jury also wanted to hear the testimony read to them from defense witness Marguerite Jackson.

As rapt jurors listened to the judge overseeing Bill Cosby's sex assault retrial read back prior testimony, the entertainer's lead lawyer snoozed in his chair.

Cosby never denied having sexual contact with Constand, but insisted it was consensual.

"I want to see a serial rapist convicted", Thomas said.

Constand initially told police about the assault in 2005, a year after the assault occurred.

Unlike past year, when Cosby's previous attorneys attempted to cast the Cosby-Constand relationship as romantic, they categorized her this time around as a gold-digger, pointing to the $3.4 million settlement she received from Cosby.

The jury resumed deliberations Thursday by re-examining testimony from a defense witness who said Constand once talked about framing a prominent person for money.

Jurors also learned that Cosby had reached a settlement with Constand of $3.4 million.
