Facebook to label political ads in the UK

Besides increasing revenue a staggering 50 percent from past year, user growth is up 13 percent, with Facebook reporting 2.2 billion billion monthly active users. Zuckerberg appeared to back away from the idea after previous statements that many read as potentially supportive.

Still, despite those missteps and challenges, Zuckerberg acknowledged that Facebook's userbase, or the "Facebook community", continues to grow at a healthy clip.

A spokesperson for Facebook says the company 'appreciate [s] any opportunity to answer questions the European Parliament may have'. The category includes efforts to root out fake accounts, scrub hate speech and take down violent videos. The shares were sold at an average price of $164.10, for a total transaction of $47,589,000.00.

"Despite negative headlines about Facebook's unmatched reach, Cambridge Analytica's allegedly improper use of Facebook data on up to 90 million users, the calls to "#deleteFacebook" and two days of Congressional hearings for CEO Mark Zuckerberg, the company emerged with almost $5 billion in net income for the quarter, up 62.8 percent from a year earlier.

A recent study by the American Press Institute and the Associated Press-NORC Centre for Public Affairs Research found that 12 percent of people trusted Facebook as a news source. Three investment analysts have rated the stock with a sell rating, three have given a hold rating, forty-two have assigned a buy rating and two have issued a strong buy rating to the company. It has not shared the revenue generated by Instagram, the photo-sharing app it owns, and it declined to provide details about time spent on Facebook.

Earlier this month, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg told USA lawmakers that Kogan violated his agreement with the platform and that it was a "big issue".

The company said it was increasing the amount of money authorised to repurchase shares by an additional $9 billion. Mark Zuckerberg's company achieved 50% revenue growth despite the Cambridge Analytica scandal that hit mid-March.

Of course, $250 million is a drop in the bucket compared to Facebook's $39.94 billion in 2017 advertising revenue.

Originally, the United Kingdom parliament had requested that the company's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, report to them, he did, however, decline the request and sent other top executives instead, having now faced questions from members of the US Congress himself.

During those hearings, Zuckerberg said the company has been trying to do more to prevent data breaches like the Cambridge Analytica one and reduce the alleged influence of Russian government.
