Facebook Messenger Kids App Gets Sleep Mode Parental Control

Facebook Messenger Kids App Gets Sleep Mode Parental Control

To that end, Facebook has opted to roll out a "Sleep Mode" feature for the app which will give parents more control over how and when their kids can use it.

The new feature will allow parents to set designated start and stop times for when the app will go to "sleep".

If you're a parent who has trouble getting their kids to sleep at night or keeping them focused on their homework due to constant device use, Facebook might have a solution to your woes.

During those "off times", the kids will not be able to send or receive messages in the chat app, play with the camera, engage in video calls or receive any sort of notifications of the app. If a kid does try to open the app, it will let them know it's now in sleep mode and refuse access. Kids love the recommended videos in the app-and parents have told us they are also interested in more ways to personalize the app for their specific style.

Parents can use this feature by enabling this feature from their accounts.
