Chennai wins by 13 runs

Chennai Super Kings returned to the top of the IPL table with a 13-run win over Delhi Daredevils in Pune.

The Delhi franchise will hope that Iyer continues to lead from the front as he did with a match-winning unbeaten 93 against Kolkata. It's more fun when you go into the 8th and 10th overs and the bowler doesn't know when you will go for the big runs. Rishabh Pant (79 off 45) and Vijay Shankar (54 not out off 31) ensured DareDevils get closer to the target, but it was not enough as they ended at 198 for five.

Shane Watson was adjudged Man of the Match for his 40-ball 78 and the Aussie was chuffed with his effort.

The Daredevils must now win each of their last six matches if they are to qualify for the play-offs.

Delhi bowlers had a hard task of containing a powerful CSK batting line-up and who could fault them for that?

Earlier, openers Watson (78) and Faf du Plessis (33) provided a flawless start before skipper Dhoni and Rayudu (41 not out) finished the proceedings in style to power Chennai Super Kings to an imposing total.

Red Fort 'adoption' only for maintenance, no handing over involved
Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "A monument where the flag fly's high, is being handed over to a private firm". Red Fort , India's most prominent historical monument has been adopted by Dalmia Bharat Group.

Earlier, CSK rung in four changes with Sam Billings, Imran Tahir, Deepak Chahar (injured) and Shardul Thakur making way for Faf du Plessis, Karn Sharma, Asif and Ngidi.

Watson found the boundary with a wristy stroke from the next delivery and continued to motor, Liam Plunkett coming in for some punishing treatment in three wicket-less overs which cost 52 runs.

Dhoni and Rayudu scored 51 and 41 from 22 and 24 balls respectively. He got a game against CSK in the match 27 when he replaced Kieron Pollard.

Earlier Watson and Dhoni powered CSK to 211 for four.

Iyer was the star of the show in his first game as skipper with a magnificent 93 against KKR, but he was run out for only 13 and Delhi were 74-4 when Glenn Maxwell fell cheaply.

They say, successful teams generally have players enjoying each others' success. They lost their first wicket in the form of Plessis (33) who was followed by Suresh Raina (1) in the next over and later Rayudu (78). But the mood in the Chennai camp is so relaxed that they even seem to have a laugh at someone's mistake too. He hit an fantastic 70 run knock in just 34 balls. Dhoni has been in wonderful form during this year's IPL and once again showed just how valuable he can be. Apart from an ugly full toss off the last ball that Dhoni sent soaring into the stands, he bowled a neat mix of yorkers and speedy low full tosses to keep the batsman in check.
