Cricket Australia Appoints Justin Langer As Head Coach

Langer was announced as the replacement for former coach Darren Lehmann by Cricket Australia on Thursday, May 5.

Newly-appointed Australia coach Justin Langer has said the Baggy Greens will be working towards winning overseas and that they can achieve greatness if they beat India in India during their tour to the Asian country in 2021. "We will judge ourselves as a great cricket team if we beat India in India", Langer said.

Former Australian coach and Langer's predecessor Darren Lehmann, who resigned shortly after the South Africa Test series scandal, took to Twitter to congratulate his former national team mate.

Captain Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner were sacked and banned for a year for their part in the controversy, while batsman Cameron Bancroft was suspended for nine months.

"We modify our behaviours a bit so that it's not angry or not over aggressive but we're still aggressive in the mindset that we play with the bat and the ball".

Langer, a gritty campaigner who retired as one of Australia's greatest opening batsmen in 2007, will have little trouble commanding the respect of the dressing room.

"It's hard to replace their runs and their experience", Langer said when asked how he planned to cover the loss of the pair who were responsible for 37 per cent of the Test match runs Australia scored since 2014.

The 47-year-old coach's willingness to welcome the players back into the fold is "not surprising given the "do the crime, do the time" philosophy of sporting suspensions", Roger Oldridge, a Network Ten cricket commentator, told CNN.

Red Fort 'adoption' only for maintenance, no handing over involved
Congress leader Pawan Khera said, "A monument where the flag fly's high, is being handed over to a private firm". Red Fort , India's most prominent historical monument has been adopted by Dalmia Bharat Group.

"Langer will coach Australia in all three formats of the game and will commence in the role on May 22, for a four-year term taking in two Ashes Series, a World Cup and World T20 tournament", Cricket Australia said in a statement. He also found success with the Warriors in the JLT One-Day Cup. "Without them, it's going to make winning games a lot more hard". They have all got areas.

Regardless, Clark knows Langer will face a challenge to fill the gaping holes left by Smith and Warner, in particular.

"He sat me down and said you can either be on the train or you can jump off it".

"We look to encourage great cricketers, but also great people".

"They've made mistakes, we have all made mistakes and we can all get better", he said.

His staunch refusal to criticise his players publicly, much less sanction them for on-field misconduct, won their loyalty but grew stale for an Australian public increasingly uncomfortable with the team's image.

"The plan has allowed us to consider several worthy candidates, but Justin was the clear standout, particularly based on his recent coaching and player development achievements", he added.

"We firmly believe Justin is the right person to lead this team and have huge confidence in what he will bring to the role".
