Jewish Festival Bonfire Explosion Injures Ten People In Stamford Hill

They were treated at the scene by ambulance crews and Hatzola, a Jewish medical volunteer group which said that it sent a "mega response team".

The event, a Lag baOmer celebration, saw hundreds of people gathered in Stamford Hill, when the bonfire suddenly exploded as it was being lit.

It is unclear what caused the blast, although there are reports fuel was poured on the fire.

As can be seen on the shocking footage below, the second the fire was lit on the pole, there was a massive explosion and large fireball.

The explosion occurred in Stamford Hill late on Wednesday evening.

The Jewish ambulance service Hatzola and other London ambulance services arrived at the scene to treat burn victims.

Ten people are believed to have been hospitalized. No criminal allegations reported.

Yeshiva site reported that 10 of the injured were taken to hospital.

The condition of the patients was not immediately clear last night.
