Marouane Fellaini wants Manchester United to offer him a two-year deal

Marouane Fellaini wants Manchester United to offer him a two-year deal

Alex Ferguson believes the rivalry between his great Manchester United team and Arsene Wenger's Arsenal "made" the Premier League.

Instead, it was an all-too-familiar feeling for the departing Arsenal manager.

But, after scoring a dramatic injury time victor against Arsenal on Sunday, manager Jose Mourinho said he wanted Fellaini to stay and said an agreement was "close".

Old Trafford has defined Wenger's time in English soccer more than any other visiting stadium.

However, remaining at Manchester United is said to be his preferred option and he and his agents are set to meet the club hierarchy later this week to discuss a new contract.

But the 30-year-old suggests he will sign an extension as he looks forward to a "big season" and an improved Premier League title tilt.

I would say our central defence has done well.

"Once you are not a danger any more, people love you", he said wryly. Mourinho then shook his hand warmly.

While police and the SWAT team were negotiating with the man, state police said there was an explosion at a barn near the home. Freda said he believed the wife managed to escape from the house before the fire, but he could not confirm her condition.

Mourinho in a post-match conference after United won 2-1 said, "I hope that I play against him again, I hope that can happen", said Mourinho.

"I am programmed to try and win football games, I don't think that changes".

The final takes place in the Stade de Lyon on May 16, just three days after Arsenal travel to Huddersfield for their final league match of the season.

A big negative for United was the sight of Romelu Lukaku limping off early in the second half with what appeared a foot injury after being challenged by Arsenal debutant Konstantinos Mavropanos.

"We have to continue, we have three games to prepare for the [FA Cup final]".

City passed the 100-goal mark in the Premier League and within touching distance of a number of milestones.

Since joining United from Everton in 2013, Fellaini has played over 150 games for the Red Devils, helping the club win the FA Cup and Europa League.

As well as Arsenal, Huddersfield face Manchester City and Chelsea in their last three games and sit 16th, three points above the relegation zone.
