It's unclear if peer-to-peer payments might come to Instagram, but having a way to add a credit or debit card on file is a critical building block to that feature. We can expect users shopping more via Instagram, as this payments feature allows users shop without the need of leaving the app.

Earlier in March, Instagram has announced, "we'll roll out the ability to book a service with a business directly from their profile later this year", but there wasn't any words regarding this new in-app payment feature.

TechCrunch reported that several users in the United States have already received the feature to shop and make payments in Instagram. After all, Instagram and Facebook do heavily rely on the feature and it makes sense that it caters to a wider audience as well.

We've confirmed that the payment settings are now visible; some, but not all, users in the USA have it while at least some in the United Kingdom don't. This feature conforms to that plan but also adds native payments to make the experience more seamless.

Ya gotta do it in Vegas". "Khabib will fight in Russian Federation at some point, but it won't be that fight". Whether it comes to fruition or not, UFC 227 would offer an attractive landing for Diaz's return.

According to reports, the Instagram payments feature is visible to only select users in the U.S. and United Kingdom now.

The payments option on Instagram will work with its Shoppable Tags. However, the update suggests the feature should not be too far away, and may be enabled in the next few months.

A sample of businesses in the United Kingdom and the USA are now accepting in-app payments for services, such as booking restaurant tables or taking hair appointments, without needing users to leave the app. Once the in-app payments feature is expanded to more businesses, it could encourage many business profiles to give users the option to purchase their products or services directly via Instagram. So, players like BookMyShow and PayTM that sell movie tickets will be able to sell tickets on Instagram as well. They will also be able to make the payment for the booked table via Instagram. The video chat will allow people to connect in real time via Instagram Direct.

In 2016, Instagram began testing "Shoppable Tags" that allow its users to shop products tagged by businesses in a post with the "Tap to view products" button.
