Trump Administration Will Separate Parents From Children at Border

Sessions' so-called "zero tolerance policy" raises the possibility that immigration authorities could separate parents from their children whenever a family is apprehended attempting to cross the border. He is on fire about this. "Persuade your fellow citizens to your point of view".

The trip marked the fourth time a high-ranking Trump Administration official has visited the California-Mexico border region in recent months.

According to the report, families that are detained for illegal crossings have typically been kept together in the past.

The Department of Homeland Security reported nearly 51,000 people were arrested or turned away at the southwest border in April.

US officials arrive in Beijing for trade talks
Washington's moves, perceived by Beijing as an attempt to contain China's strategic ambitions in hi-tech, have not gone unnoticed. But the diverse USA trade delegation is likely to have differing views among its members on the merits of such an offer.

Monday's announcement came about a week after hundreds of Central American migrants traveled to the San Ysidro, Calif., port of entry seeking asylum following a monthlong caravan through Mexico.

The conference comes a week after a caravan of a few hundred migrants from Central America arrived at the USA border in Tijuana, and it's likely to be a topic of discussion.

While in the Imperial Valley, Pence spoke to Homeland Security and Border Patrol employees at the El Centro Border Patrol Station to discuss plans for the proposed wall and to call for tougher controls on immigration. "The United States will not stand by as our immigration laws are ignored and our nation's safety is jeopardized. We need legality and integrity in our immigration system", he continued.

The move would also mean that even if immigrants caught at the border illegally have valid asylum claims, they could still end up with federal criminal convictions on their record regardless of whether a judge finds they have a right to live and stay in the US.
