North Korea Slams US Over Taking Credit for Denuclearization Pledge

-North Korea summit planned for later this month or early June, and after last month's historic meeting between Kim and South Korean President Moon Jae-in.

On Sunday, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) published a statement from North Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which similarly denounced Washington for positioning the inter-Korean summit as a "result of so-called sanctions and pressure". "What we need is only peace", Moon recently told a group of South Korean officials.

In the wake of Pyongyang's vow to cease its nuclear activities, North Korea and Japan have begun to show signs of reconciliation, however, the North's rhetoric has sharpened recently, since Tokyo has advocated stepping up worldwide pressure on Pyongyang.
