Rolls-Royce Rolls Out Its Cullinan All-Terrain Vehicle

That instruction didn't go down too well with the Instagrammer from the United Arab Emirates so he went on to post an entire gallery of the vehicle which you can see below.

In terms of design, the Cullinan is instantly recognisable as a Roller, thanks to that upright, imposing face featuring the signature Pantheon grille flanked by slim headlights with "eyebrow" LED daytime-running lights. The now shrunken bustle at the back still hints at a separate luggage compartment and that is partitioned off by a glass panel in some models.

That chassis features a double-wishbone front axle and five-link rear axle with air suspension that gets larger air struts than on Phantom with more air volume to provide Rolls-Royce's magic carpet ride over the very worst terrain. This is our first look at the final product, and it could only be a Rolls-Royce.

The new, $325,000 Rolls-Royce Cullinan was just revealed, and it is, as expected, something else. Rolls-Royce didn't specify a standard ride height on the 22-inch wheels, but the SUV lowers itself 1.6 inches when the doors are unlocked, then rises 1.6 inches upon pressing the start button.

The Cullinan also gets all the safety functions you would expect; Alertness Assistant; a 4-Camera system with Panoramic View, all-round visibility and helicopter view; Night Vision and Vision Assist including daytime and night-time Wildlife & Pedestrian warning; Active Cruise Control; Collision Warning; Cross-Traffic Warning, Lane Departure and Lane Change Warning; an industry leading 7×3 High-Resolution Head-Up Display, WiFi hotspot, and of course the latest Navigation and Entertainment Systems. As a result, much of the Cullinan's mechanical components are shared with the Phantom, including the 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 engine. Getting in to the back is via typically Rolls-Royce rear-hinged coach doors that, like the front doors, clamp over the sills to prevent you getting dirty as you get in and out. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Two rear-facing seats with a cocktail table.

There are two rear seat configurations on offer: a more functional "Lounge Seat" for three or a pair of individual seats, complete with fixed rear centre console for your decanter or latest bottle of Hervé Dubois. However, the remaining torque comes 100 rpm sooner in the Cullinan than in the Phantom. With a 540 mm wading depth, the Cullinan doesn't quite match the Range Rover's 900 mm but trumps the Bentayga's 500 mm.
