Macron urges 'de-escalation' between Israel, Iran

The U.S. slammed Thursday Iran's "provocative rocket attacks" after Israel and Iran exchanged fire across the Syrian border in overnight clashes.

And it comes just days after US President Donald Trump's decision to walk away from the landmark nuclear deal agreed with Iran in 2015 - pouring fuel onto a raging fire.

Israel hit dozens of Iranian targets in response to a barrage of 20 rockets fired from Syria at Israeli military outposts. "There are no injuries and no damage was caused to IDF positions", Manelis said, referring to the name Israel has given its missile interceptor system. However Israel and Iran remain on a collision course.

Unconfirmed reports said Thursday that the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force is pulling out of the Golan Heights. Thunderclaps of Israeli artillery fire reverberated across the frontier between Syria and Israel, with the faint sound of impact echoing back moments later.

"Iran has crossed a red line". It was not immediately clear what was hit.

Rami Abdurrahman, the head of the SOHR, said the Israeli defense minister's comments on the scale of the strike were "mere publicity".

Its army said three people had been killed.

Five of those killed are reported to be Syrian soldiers, and the other 18 from forces allied with it, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has closely followed Syria's civil war.

Sanders said that "the Iranian regime's deployment into Syria of offensive rocket and missile systems aimed at Israel is an unacceptable and highly unsafe development for the entire Middle East".

The hitmaker sported a similarly edgy hairstyle, showing off an undercut beneath three buns on the top of her head. So it's fair to say that whatever Madonna wears for the Met Gala is going to be nothing short of spectacular.

Another possibility is Iran will again take a more active role against Israel through Syria, through Lebanon in an attempt to show that it will not cave in to American pressure. Israel accuses Tehran of seeking to establish a foothold on its doorstep. It said half of the missiles were shot down.

Israel says it destroyed the launcher from which these were fired.

"We don't want an escalation, but won't let anyone attack us or build an infrastructure to attack us in the future", Lieberman said.

"I repeat: Whoever hurts us we will hurt them sevenfold, and whoever is preparing to hurt us we will act to hit them first".

Iranian leaders have not issued a statement in response to the attacks, but according to CNN, it will be the first time Iranian forces launched rockets to purposely attack Israel. Since the Middle East War in 1967, Israel has occupied Golan Heights. But Israel and Russian Federation have maintained close communications to prevent their air forces from coming into conflict.

Five of the 23 were Syrian fighters loyal to the Assad regime, at least one of whom was an officer, while the rest were Syrians and foreigners.

Israel "views this Iranian attack very severely", Conricus told reporters. The incoming attack set off air raid sirens in the Golan.

Russian Federation was informed in advance of Israel's strikes on Thursday, Conricus said.

But, he added, "We are not trying to aggravate or create a new front. It means we are on a collision course". In April, Israel announced that it was able to determine that the drone had been armed and on an attack mission.
