Lethal Weapon Season 3 Renewed With Seann William Scott Replacing Clayne Crawford

Lethal Weapon is now the only show produced outside of Fox counterpart 20th TV on the network's 2018-19 roster. But following his two counts of misbehaviour he has now been officially replaced, and the newbie will be American Pie actor Seann William Scott.

The replacement of a main character is a dramatic and risky move, especially when it involves the lead of an established series such as Lethal Weapon.

"Warner Bros. Television has decided not to renew Clayne Crawford's contract for Lethal Weapon". "'Lethal Weapon' is packed with action, drama and pure fun and we can't wait to see Damon and Seann together on screen".

In its first series regular role, Scott will play a new character, who will be partnered with Wayans' Murtaugh.

Back on May 8 one of the show's two leads, Clayne Crawford, was sacked from the show.

"Seann is a fantastic addition to this already awesome cast", said Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn in the announcement.

News of Crawford's firing was announced on Wednesday, and followed reports that the 40-year-old actor had been disciplined for unspecified bad behaviour, including "emotional abuse" and "creating a hostile environment". The situation escalated to a point where Fox and Warner Bros.

The series' ratings were enough to score a renewal, however the behavior of Clayne Crawford put the show in jeopardy. The show is based on the hit movie franchise, and stars Damon Wayans, Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, Jordana Brewster, Johnathan Fernandez, Dante Brown, Chandler Kinney and Michelle Mitchenor.

It will be the first network series role for Scott.

"Furthermore, I apologize to all the crew and cast for any negative attention 'Lethal Weapon" is receiving because of these incidents'.

It's a bad time for Crawford to be forced out, "Lethal Weapon" is averaging over 8.6M viewers an episode. Miller, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz, and McG serve as executive producers.
