Trump May Have Paid Hush Money to Two More Women

His lawyer has said he paid porn star Stormy Daniels to keep quiet about an affair she had with Trump.

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, claims she had a tryst with Trump in 2006 while he was married.

The solicitation would be the latest such exchange offered by Mr Cohen to be made public following acknowledgements by USA and European companies last week that they paid Mr Cohen, who was Mr Trump's lawyer for about a decade and self-described "fixer" for Mr Trump.

Trump, who said last month that he knew nothing about the Daniels payment and did not reimburse Cohen, reported an apparent reimbursement payment to his lawyer on financial disclosure documents released Wednesday.

The Office of Government Ethics disagreed with Trump's assessment on the form that the payment was not required to be disclosed and instead should have been reported on Trump's 2017 filing.

Cohen has repeatedly said the potential deal was dead in January 2016, but BuzzFeed News reported Thursday that Cohen and Sater were still working on the project well into Trump's campaign in 2016 and that a meeting between Trump and Putin in Russian Federation was not finally ruled out until July 2016.

Earlier this year, Trump told reporters on Air Force One that he had not known about Cohen's payment to Daniels.

Details about the payments to Cohen reportedly came from SARs filed by First Republic Bank, where Essential Consultants maintained an account, the New Yorker reported.

Trump had previously disputed whether he was aware of the payment by Cohen and whether he reimbursed him.

However, Cohen believed that GenBank was a "third-rate" organization and he told Sater that he would work his own contacts to secure a meeting with a more prominent financial institution.

The lawyer for Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti, wrote on Twitter, "Mr. Trump's disclosure today conclusively proves that the American people were deceived. This was NOT an accident and it was not isolated".

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani insisted Trump disclosed the repayments to Cohen in this year's report out of "an abundance of caution".

Of course, it should be noted that DOJ policy says that a sitting president can not be indicted with criminal charges, but Shaub also raised the issue of a possible civil issue. "This is not relevant to the Trump presidency in any serious legal or political way", Fleischer said.

The report also showed Trump earned between $230,000 and $1.1 million in capital gains income on stock in iPhone maker Apple, Caterpillar, Microsoft and Pepsico. But "it was clear that the deal was not going to happen", said Ruhaimi, who is no longer part of the Qatari government.
