Rockets' Chris Paul ruled out for Game 6 against Warriors

The defending champions trail Houston 3-2 in the best-of-seven series after consecutive wins by the Rockets, capped by Thursday night's 98-94 victory.

The Rockets said Paul has a right hamstring strain and will be re-evaluated after the team returns to Houston following Game 6.

"We don't want to come and be pouting around", he said.

"We was supposed to score", he said. Paul scored 18 of his 20 Game 5 points in the second half, making a handful of seemingly impossible third-quarter shots with James Harden on the bench to give the Rockets the lead.

It would seem that under this circumstance, D'Antoni should still absolutely start Paul but then see how the game is flowing.

Paul left in the final minute of the Rockets' Game 5 victory after suffering a hamstring injury.

Hawaii volcano overwhelms neighborhood with river of molten misery
Earlier this month officials removed a flammable gas called pentane from the plant to reduce the chance of explosions. A spike in gas levels could prompt a mass evacuation, said Hawaii County Civil Defense Administrator Talmadge Magno.

If the Rockets win, they can await Paul's medical update as they prepare for their first trip to the NBA Finals since winning the title in 1995.

"Because I think the way we've played the last two games, we've played good enough to win and just haven't gotten the job done", he said.

Golden State trails 3-2, but will host Houston on Saturday with tipoff set for 9 p.m. ET.

Paul has been sidelined by a hamstring injury on four occasions during his career, according to ESPN Stats & Information. "That's a pretty good position to be in", coach Steve Kerr said. Aaron Jackson is the only other listed point guard on the roster, and he isn't about to get playoff minutes. Two nights before, the physical Rockets found success overplaying Kevin Durant, knocking him off his spot and making sure every catch was hard. The ball squirted away in the direction of Eric Gordon, who was immediately fouled and sank the two free throw attempts to seal the game.

D'Antoni may have to extend what has been a seven-man rotation. Mike D'Antoni has a big decision to make: Is it really worth even risking CP3 in Game 6 on the road in a game the Warriors are favored by -10.5?

Rockets: Clint Capela had 12 points and 14 rebounds for his seventh double-double this postseason.
