Golden State Warriors vs. Houston Rockets Live ECF Game 7

Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni provided an update on Chris Paul's right hamstring strain that kept him on the bench during Saturday's Game 6 loss to the Warriors.

But he was injured in the final minute of game five, and could only watch in frustration as the Rockets succumbed to the Warriors' second-half onslaught on Saturday. Curry scored 19 of his 27 points in the second half, when he also dished out half of his 10 assists.

He mentioned that the assessment wasn't gamesmanship or an attempt to be coy and that they'd be more direct about Paul's status the moment they have more clarity.

Meanwhile, the Houston Rockets will be kicking themselves after getting blown out by the Warriors after jumping out to that early 17-point lead. Thompson stayed in rhythm most of the night while Curry (29 points) and Durant (23) went through off-and-on cold stretches and afterward joked how he was "born" for this.

For the game, the Rockets were a horrendous 7-for-44 (15.9 percent) from beyond the arc.

Which players owned the night? The Rockets can't blame this loss exclusively on Paul's hamstring injury, but his absence had a clear effect on Houston's already thin rotation.

The Warriors rallied from an 11-point halftime deficit en route to a 101-92 win in Game 7 of the Western Conference finals.

"All I hear is the call of death's warm embrace", wrote Kate Aronoff, a reporter for the left-leaning In These Times. Listening with headphones, speakers or on a laptop or smartphone will affect what you hear based on sound quality.

"It's fantastic how long the National Basketball Association game is", Warriors coach Steve Kerr said.

It was a sense of deja vu for Thompson and the Dubs as it's not the first time he's produced heroics in a Game 6 where they were facing elimination.

Of course, without a Game 7 win, this is all relatively meaningless. Game 6 began as if the Rockets would punch their ticket to the next round, but the Warriors recovered with a phenomenal second-half performance to prolong their season. Assuming that Paul is indeed unable to play, I'm going with the Warriors to pull away in the second half and come away with the win.

The Warriors held no such pre-camp huddle - champions have what others want - yet knew that once the Rockets added Paul, Houston would be their toughest test since Durant signed up.

"We've got too much talent not just to hit singles like coach (Steve Kerr) always says and trust the next man ahead of us because it will end up working in our favor most of the time".
