Ambien maker to Roseanne: 'Racism is not a known side effect'

She deleted the tweet and initially apologized Tuesday but then retweeted supporters defending the tweet Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. She said of the Jarrett tweet, "It was 2 in the morning and I was ambien tweeting". While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

"Guys I did something unforgivable so do not defend me", she wrote, after retweeting many fans who had been defending her.

Barr, 65, also issued a formal apology statement in which she expressed deep regret and apologized to Jarrett, ABC, and the cast and crew of her show.

"Hear me out, just because Roseanne is gone, it doesn't mean the whole show has to go". Here, Kimmel interviews Roseanne Barr and John Goodman back in March, before the shows reboot premiere.

"Roseanne" was an instant hit when it returned this spring after a two-decade hiatus.

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 7 AM Wednesday for all of the Tennessee Valley. Roy Cooper said the two died due to storm-related conditions.

Valerie Jarrett, a onetime adviser to former President Barack Obama, wants to turn a racist tweet aimed at her by Roseanne Barr into "a teaching moment", she said. She called it "abhorrent, repugnant and inconsistent with our values".

But on Wednesday, she took a softer stance, coming to Gilbert's defense after one of her followers sent a critical tweet. The reboot of the hit 1980s sitcom Roseanne previous year drew huge audiences and praise from President Trump, who once called Roseanne Barr to congratulate her on the show's success. "Our government is only going to be as good as we make it be". The initial tweet outraged fans and as well as her own castmates.

"Don't feel sorry for me, guys!" she wrote in a separate post.

"Just because Roseanne is gone, doesn't mean the whole show has to go", he said. In response, Barr wrote that she "created the platform for inclusivity", and was surprised Fishman would "throw [her] under the bus". The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of ABC and this station.

Barr's claim of Ambien-tweeting brought out the inner-comedian in a lot of people. Barr regularly attacks liberals on Twitter and peddles fringe conspiracy theories. Clinton herself corrected Barr online. Jarrett, 61, is African American and worked for Obama from 2009 to 2017.
