After one-for-the-ages game, Durant showered with Twitter love

CLEVELAND - Golden State Warriors swingman Andre Iguodala scored eight points and recorded a key thundering dunk down the stretch Wednesday night in his winning NBA Finals debut in Game 3 after missing six games with a bone bruise around his left knee.

Cleveland came back from 3-1 down in 2016 to take the title but the odds are stacked against them this year with a team of mostly veterans past their prime.

"It was like deja vu watching him hit that shot again", Cavs forward Kevin Love said.

Those shots at the rim made up for the fact that Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson were off their game, combining to shoot 7-of-27 overall and 3-of-15 from three. "Two guys that I think are a head above everybody else that's ever played the game".

Shaun Livingston (34) has been a key bench player as the Warriors have gotten off to a 2-0 start over the Cavaliers in the NBA Finals.

Durant finished with 43 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists and pretty much put to rest any question about the 2018 Finals MVP. And past year, the Warriors trailed by six with 3:09 left before storming back to win 118-113 in Game 3.

The Warriors are trying to join Bill Russell's Celtics, the Bulls led by Michael Jordan and the Lakers" trio of title runs fueled by George Mikan in the 1950s, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the "80s, and Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant almost 20 years ago as the only franchises in National Basketball Association history to capture three championships in four years.

'A magical story': Golden Knights, Capitals to face-off in Game 2
Gallant tipped his hat to the Capitals , saying they deserved to win Game 2 based on how they performed after losing Kuznetsov. It was his first goal since February 26, 2016. "I mean, my heart stopped on the bench", Washington's Andre Burakovsky said.

Game 4 will be at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday.

Indians manager Terry Francona and more than a dozen of his players were scrambling for tickets in the hours leading up to tip-off.

Coming off a Game 2 in which he attacked, distributed and performed yeoman's work defensively on LeBron James while Curry dazzled from distance, Durant moved front and center in the Warriors' offense.

The Slim Reaper's last trey with 49.8 seconds left proved to be the dagger that pierced the Cavs' hearts after it gave the Warriors a 106-100 lead. More thinking we haven't played that great and we're up one. But oddsmakers aren't ruling out Kevin Durant (plus-275; 26 points and nine rebounds per game) or James (plus-375; 40 points, 10.5 assists, 8.5 boards). He added 10 rebounds and 11 assists for a triple-double, his fourth of the playoffs. So we've got to continue to just grind and defend as we did tonight.

And if he scores 30 in Game 3 - or any postseason game for the rest of his career - he will break a tie with Michael Jordan for the most 30-point playoff games in league history.

Golden State is just too good and too deep for the Cavs, who are too often exposed as a one-man team powered by James. The veteran swingman has missed six games since then. Hood was averaging 16.8 points when he was acquired by Cleveland at the deadline, a scoring average only LeBron is clearing for the Cavs this postseason.
