English bulldog from Minnesota wins World's Ugliest Dog title

A nine-year-old English bulldog has been named this year's World's Ugliest Dog at a contest in California. The dogs and their handlers walk down a red carpet.

The 9-year-old victor, named Zsa Zsa, was found via a pet-finding site by owner Megan Brainard of Anoka, Minn., according to a biography supplied for the contest.

The bulldog, whose tongue hangs out of the side of her mouth and nearly touches the ground, was adopted by Megan Brainard, told CNN that "from the moment we saw her handsome face, we knew we would be her forever home".

An English bulldog with an underbite and muscular, rounded front legs won the 30th annual World's Ugliest Dog contest on Saturday night. She will also be flown, with Zsa Zsa, to NY to make some public appearances and take part in a photo shoot.

Wild Thang, a Pekingese, also competed for the top spot.

Josie, a Chinese crested with some chihuahua mixed in, had already participated five times in the contest held annually at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds, taking home a respectable second- and third-place finishes in past years.

After the events of 2015's Jurassic World , the park run by Claire ( Bryce Dallas Howard ) was completely destroyed. However, most would agree that " Jurassic Park 3" is not exactly a cinematic masterpiece.

"She has come so far and she is just so attractive in my eyes", said Brainard, who operates a dog-and-cat grooming shop.

As well as Zsa Zsa, this year's competitors included a blackhead-covered Chinese-crested dachshund mutt and a bulldog bitser with excess wrinkly skin.

While older and smaller dogs have traditionally been the best performers, this year's World's Ugliest Dog prize went to a three-year-old, 125-pound (57-kilos) Neapolitan Mastiff named Martha.
