Apple is working on high-end headphones to compete with Bose

Apple originally meant to introduce the headphones by the end of 2018, but has faced development challenges, and is now targeting a launch as early as next year. However, the 2018 AirPods that will be released later this year will come with a new chip and support for hands-free Siri activation, thus laying the foundations for Apple to incorporate newer features on AirPods coming in 2019.

Those same sources added that Apple is putting together AirPods with water resistance (mainly against rain or sweat, not for swimming or anything like that) and noise-cancellation. Apple also wants to ensure that these new AirPods can work even when relatively far away from their companion smartphone or tablet.

Shares of noise-cancellation component maker Cirrus Logic rose as much as 10 percent after Susquehanna analyst Christopher Rolland wrote that the company would be working with Apple on the new AirPods. That's all we know at the moment, but it's a safe assumption they'll cost more than current AirPods, which clock in at $159. In addition, the company is working on wireless case charger headphone that will be compatible with the charger AirPower.

Bloomberg reported Monday, citing people familiar with Apple's plans, that the Cupertino giant has big plans for its audio-device division starting this year.

The wireless AirPods are an improvement over the previously popular Apple EarPods which were wired and offered a similar sound signature with crisp audio.

Tom Holland Wants Spider-Man to Fight Venom in the MCU
Well, their fears were unfounded because for our money, Holland is the best Spider-Man of all time. "We start filming early July". Actors Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon and Marisa Tomei are also expected to reprise their respective roles.

Apple is revamping its headphone offerings in ways that ought to get audiophiles excited. These are said to have Apple branding and will be the high-end alternatives to the firm's Beats line. The original version of the earbuds faced a delay after it first debuted in 2016.

Bloomberg notes that none of these aforementioned deals are finalized, and production has not begun on any of these new audio products.

A new version of the HomePod speaker is also under development, sources say.

The pricier model is expected to feature noise-cancelling technology, as well as water resistance. A spokesperson for Apple declined to comment on the leaked information.
