Demi Lovato reportedly hospitalized for possible heroin overdose

Dallas-raised musician Demi Lovato was rushed to a hospital on Tuesday after an apparent drug overdose, multiple media outlets reported.

A Los Angeles Fire Department spokeswoman confirmed to AFP that emergency responders transported a 25-year-old woman from an address that matches Lovato's to a hospital, but did not identify her by name or state her condition.

"Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers and support". Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy.

Demi Lovato's ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama is reportedly devastated over Lovato's reported July 24 hospitalization, according to Us Weekly. The initial report claimed that the singer overdosed on heroin, but TMZ has since spoken to a source close to the situation, who said that wasn't the case.

Lovato was in the final days of her current USA tour. "Guess I always searched for what he found in drugs and alcohol because it fulfilled him and he chose that over a family", she said.

Those rumours have only increased since Ronaldo's sensational move to Serie A , with both he and PSG team-mate Kylian Mbappe as possible heirs to the record-breaking striker.

Demi rose to fame as a Disney star, first appearing in children's television series Barney and Friends as a child.

Lovato's hospitalization on Tuesday comes just weeks after the singer, who has struggled with substance abuse, revealed she had recently suffered a relapse. On the song "Sober", she sings the lyrics: "Momma, I'm so sorry I'm not sober anymore/And daddy please forgive me for the drinks spilled on the floor". "Like all of you I am reeling at the news about Demi".

Her concert in Atlantic City, scheduled for this Thursday, has been cancelled, Variety reports. We continue to send healing wishes to her during her recovery.
