Alex Iwobi agrees new Arsenal deal

Paolo Scaroni, who was deputy chairman of investment bank Rothschild, is the club's interim CEO but Gazidis is reported to be closely connected to Paul Singer, who runs Elliot Management.

Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elney and Alex Iwobi returned to pre-season training last week but Emery has confirmed they aren't ready to play yet so won't feature against Atletico today.

The matches are part of the preparations by Arsenal, ahead of Emery's first campaign for English Premier League honours in charge at the Emirates club.

New Arsenal boss Unai Emery has previously said he was keen to retain the services of Ramsey as he looks to get his first season in the Premier League underway. "I think he will continue here because he has big priorities here".

TEAMtalk are reporting that we are weighing up a loan swoop for Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck.

Mesut Ozil named in Arsenal squad for Singapore tour
Arsenal confirmed that Iwobi was one of three first team players that travelled with the squad from London to Singapore on Sunday. Leon Goretzka, 23, Lars Stindl, 29, and Thomas Mueller, 28, have also played well for Germany in the attacking midfield role.

That flux could be set to increase even further with reports in Italy suggesting that club chief executive Ivan Gazidis is set to take over as executive director of Serie A side AC Milan.

'He has never accepted any of these opportunities and has never spoken about them publicly.

Alexandre Lacazette has been playing as the central striker in pre-season with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang deployed on the left side of attack so it will be interesting to see if that's how Emery plans to use the forwards this season.

That has created a structure where Gazidis, Sanllehi and Mislintat work together with Emery on most key decisions - a major departure from the Wenger years, when the Frenchman had the final say on almost everything.
