Jose Mourinho frustrated with Manchester United's transfer activity

Jose Mourinho frustrated with Manchester United's transfer activity

"Matic arrived from the World Cup, holiday, direct to surgery because something happened in the World Cup", the Portuguese told the club's official website. They face a further friendly against Bayern Munich in Munich on August 5.

"But I am not thinking I am going to have two. I know the one who are ready for anything, and I know the ones who are not ready".

"And that one I gave a list to my club five names a few months ago, and I wait to see if it's possible to have one". If it is possible, good, if it is not possible we keep fighting, working and believing in the players that we have.

Reinforcements, you mean players that I would like to buy, that's another thing. Mourinho said of Sanchez.

"We are not playing here to improve the team, the dynamic or our routines". Man United, he said, were in America to "survive, to have some not-very-ugly results". Alexis is the only attacking player that we have. We don't have wingers, we don't have strikers, he is the only who is here.

Mourinho praised Ivorian defender Eric Bailly for stepping in after Smalling had pulled up moments before the game. "They thought was a baseball game", Mourinho said. "It was not fair on Alexis (Sanchez) and (Juan) Mata and (Ander) Herrera".

Adding to United's injury woes is Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic, who had undergone surgery after picking up an injury during the World Cup. He came from the World Cup with the injury and the time he had to rest on holiday was not enough to resolve the problem.

Mourinho confirmed that the 29-year-old had flown to Philadelphia to see a specialist and was immediately booked in for surgery.

Rebic now plays for Eintracht Frankfurt at club level in the Bundesliga, with no mention of how much they would demand as a fee. The club are reported to be open to allowing Darmian leave but only if they get a sufficient price for the player.

Speaking after United's 4-1 loss to Liverpool at the International Champions Cup on Saturday, Mourinho told MUTV: "He has the baby and after the baby is born - lovely baby, full of health, thank god".

An off-season arrival from relegated Premier League side Stoke City, Switzerland star Shaqiri came off the bench and netted a sensational overhead kick from 12 yards after Sheyi Ojo and Daniel Sturridge put the Reds ahead.

"This is not our team, this is not our squad - not even 30 per cent of it".

It was a nice way for the Reds to finish up their USA exhibition swing as they now travel back to Merseyside before continuing their preparations for the season with a training camp in France beginning next week.

Sadio Mane hit the victor from the penalty spot as Liverpool beat Manchester City 2-1 last time out and the Senegal star was on target from 12 yards again to open the scoring after Mohamed Salah was fouled.

Alexis Sanchez did feature in MI, but he cut a frustrated figure as Andreas Pereira's stunning free-kick strike provided scant consolation for a United side ripped apart by Liverpool.

Mane had scored a stoppage-time penalty to give Liverpool victory in New Jersey, and he was at it again in MI after a frantic opening 27 minutes. (Mo) Salah played 45, then 45.
