Sony Celebrates Huge Sales Milestone with Limited Edition PS4 Pro

The limited edition DualShock 4 controller will be available to purchase separately on the same day. Many games, like Call of Duty®: WWII, Gran Turismo Sport, and more, are optimized to look stunningly sharp and detailed when played on a 4K TV with PS4 Pro.

In celebration of selling 500 million PlayStations, PS2s, PS3s, and PS4s over the years, Sony is releasing a 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro. Actually, combined PSOne, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PS Vita sales are significantly over 500 million - the brand has moved a whopping 525.3 million units to date. Normally a distinctly boring black, this limited edition model is made of a translucent blue plastic which will no doubt immediately make people think of Nintendo's ill-fated Nintendo 64. Sony is celebrating the milestone by releasing a rather lovely, blue PS4 Pro Limited Edition. The first and second PlayStation consoles make up almost half of this total, selling 102.49 million units and 155 million units, respectively.

"In addition, each system will have a commemorative copper plate on its front, with its limited edition serial number etched on", said Sony.

United States unveils list of products facing tariffs
China buys nearly $18 billion a year worth of goods from Washington state every year. United States tariffs on Chinese goods are set to hit $50 billion from August 23.

All of the hardware, including the console itself, will go on sale from August 24, with pre-orders starting at most major retailers at 10am Tuesday, August 14. It will be available for $499.99 USD (MSRP) / $639.99 CAD (MSRP), and will be limited to 50,000 units worldwide.

In the United Kingdom you'll be able to pre-order the limited-edition console, gold headset, and wireless control online from 10am on August 14 at Amazon, Game, Smyths Toys, ShopTo, Currys PC World and Very. Serial number 09995, for example, commemorates the United States launch date of the original PlayStation; 01115 commemorates the United States launch date of PlayStation 4; and 01013 commemorates the United States launch date of PlayStation VR.
