West Ham land Perez on three-year deal from Arsenal

Sanchez, along with Jack Wilshere and the club-record signing of Felipe Anderson, will shape a new-look Hammers midfield this season.

Lucas Perez's largely barren two-year association with Arsenal is now officially at an end with news that the Spanish forward has completed a £4million move to West Ham.

The 29-year-old has endured a hard spell at Arsenal, spending last year on loan at Deportivo after struggling for football in his first season at the club.

"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club", he said.

Perez cost Arsenal a reported £17million in 2016 but made just two Premier League starts under Arsene Wenger as he failed to earn a regular spot at the Emirates Stadium.

"West Ham have great fans and play in an fantastic stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy".

The striker said: 'Today I would like to thank Arsenal fans for their support, they always showed me affection and love from the first time I arrived in London.

With the Baggies unable to offer Premier League football like West Ham, they would have to convince him to turn down a move to London.

West Ham have continued their £100million summer spree by signing Lucas Perez - and will swoop for "The Rock" next.

Perez managed to score eight goals in 35 matches for Deportivo who have been relegated into the Segunda division in Spain last season.

"His style is different from the other strikers we have available to us, and that gives the manager more options for our attacking play".
