'The Bachelor': Colton Underwood to Be Season 23 Star of ABC Series

Tia Booth and Colton Underwood may have called it quits on 'Bachelor In Paradise, ' but Tia has no bad blood towards her ex now that he's the new Bachelor. I hold a lot of value in it and I hold it to a high standard.

It will be the third time Underwood has appeared in a "Bachelor"-franchise reality show, but the first time as its lead character".

"One thing I took pride in on both seasons was being true to who I am", Underwood said on Tuesday's Good Morning America broadcast, where the casting announcement was made.

"I'm very excited", Underwood, 26, told People. He then appeared onBachelor in Paradise, where he began a relationship with contestant Tia Booth that ultimately flamed out on Monday's episode. Many have also protested showrunner Mike Fleiss's decision to not cast a person of color, noting that there has yet to be a black Bachelor.

Following their split, Colton took to Instagram with nothing but kind words for his ex. "Thank you for teaching me even more about myself, and most importantly, for your friendship that I know will continue far beyond Paradise", Colton wrote.

We all hear on the video what the umpire said to Nick overpassing (overstepping) his functions. I wasn't really listening to him, but I knew it wasn't a good look. "I know this is not you".

Colton Underwood is getting another shot at love. "That's what I'm looking forward to the most, being engaged and being married shortly after that.' He also admitted that the most important thing he is looking for on his 'journey" is someone who is in it for the right reasons.

Congratulations to Colton, or better yet, good luck.
