Hurricane Florence creating 80-foot tall waves?

Hurricane Florence creating 80-foot tall waves?

Hurricane-force winds extended 90 miles (150 kilometers) from its center, and tropical-storm-force winds up to 195 miles (315 kilometers).

Forecasters warned that drenching rains of anywhere from 1 to 3½ feet as the storm crawls westward across North and SC could trigger epic flooding well inland over the next few days.

A smaller hurricane dubbed Isaac is reportedly heading for the Caribbean, while Hurricane Helene - now also in the Atlantic - is forecast to track towards the UK. The tropical storm is tracking to the west at 20 miles per hour with top winds of 60 miles per hour with higher gusts.

According to the National Hurricane Center's Tropical Analysis and Forecast Branch, the waves were measured in Hurricane Florence's northeast quadrant. "Near the coast, the surge will be accompanied by large and destructive waves", the NHC added. "We should also continue to keep our brothers and sisters located in the Carolinas in our thoughts and prayers as Hurricane Florence approaches their area".

The Ocean Resort Casino announced on Twitter that they were at capacity Thursday morning, and rooms were booked up through Saturday, September 15.

"It is imperative that everyone follow local evacuation orders", President Trump tweeted Wednesday, along with a satellite video of the mammoth storm swirling through the Atlantic.

So What Is Apple Actually Going to Call the New Cheap iPhone?
Now a "leak" from inside a Chinese telecoms firm might just have revealed two key details about the gadget: its name and price. The iPhone XS will have the same 5.8-inch OLED display, whereas the iPhone XS Max will have a massive 6.5-inch OLED display.

The flooding soon spread into SC, swamping places like North Myrtle Beach, in a resort area known for its white sands and multitude of golf courses.

On Sunday alone there will be about two inches of rainfall.

But the weather system will have weakened by the time it hits the western side of the United Kingdom, becoming more of a storm, the Met Office said.

He said: "The UK's weather will come under the influence of ex-hurricane Helene although there are other systems in the Atlantic which may modify this particular one".

The system is expected to bring its gusty winds, which extend some 140 miles from its center, and heavy rains to the Azores, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A remarkable satellite image shows Hurricane Florence in the Atlantic is one of just nine potentially risky storms now circling around the world.
