Complaint Lodged Against Jet Airways Staff For ‘Attempt to Murder’

Oxygen masks were deployed during the emergency aboard the Boeing 737, said Darshak Hathi, a passenger. The airline staff who were crewing the plane have now been pulled off the aircraft and have been taken off-duty, with an investigation into the same expected to take place shortly.

In the four-pager, Patel has accused the crew of Jet Airways of "dereliction of duty" and "poor crisis management" leading to the incident on September 20 on its Mumbai-Jaipur flight No. 9W-0697.

"The B737 aircraft, with 166 guests and 5 crew landed normally in Mumbai", Jet Airways said in a statement.

All patients have since been released from the hospital.

"We have had a preliminary look into the incident involving two of our members with regard to the improper handling of pressurisation on the Mumbai-Jaipur flight", said the National Aviator's Guild, which represents more than 1,100 domestic pilots of the airline. "Some have nose bleeding, few have ear bleeding and some are complaining of headache", he added.

"Jet Airways regrets the inconvenience caused to its guests", it said in a Twitter post.

At least five male passengers, whose condition was worse, were taken to the Nanavati Hospital and kept under observation after undergoing various tests.

Taking a flight is the preferred mode of transport when we need to travel long-distance and generally, it is a safe and faster way to reach our destination.

The airline said it was co-operating fully with the DGCA investigation.
