'Beast mode': Anthony Joshua's knockout combo wows fans

Joshua appeared to be in control in the opener, but Povetkin caught Joshua with a sweet three punch combo at the end of the round.

If boxing fans could have their way, Joshua's unification fight with Wilder would've already happened late previous year or at worst in the first half of 2018.

"I got my knockout streak back, I found my right hand again".

This fight saw Joshua returning to the scene of arguably his greatest triumph, an 11th-round stoppage of former champion Wladimir Klitschko past year. I start training for my next fight in early January, so I want to know who I'm facing this side of the year.

'Joshua is under a lot of pressure, there is massive pressure on me every fight and he is at a higher level than me.

Wilder, an American, versus former champion Fury is widely regarded as a bigger and more significant fight than Joshua's 22nd professional win, but Joshua insists he wants the victor.

Anthony Joshua reacts on his way to the ring ahead of the fight against Russia's Alexander Povetkin in their boxing world Heavyweight title fight at Wembley Stadium in north-west London on September 22, 2018.

An Aspirin a Day Won't Make Healthy Adults Live Longer, Study Shows
Among those taking aspirin, 8.6 percent experienced a major bleeding episode versus 6.2 percent of those taking the placebo. The study found the higher death rate in the aspirin-treated group was due primarily to a higher rate of cancer deaths.

Joshua, 28, had a significant height and reach advantage of several inches over Povetkin.

"May the champion bring himself here and have a good old fashioned dust-up".

Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs), 39, was impressively aggressive and consistently risky with left hooks and overhand rights.

But Joshua, who had a 4-inch height advantage and weighed in almost two stones heavier (246 pounds to Povetkin's 222), made better use of his jab later in the third round. Since then, criticism has largely been equal to the praise Joshua has received, including a breakthrough 2017 knockout of Klitschko in which Joshua was forced to overcome both a knockdown and stamina dump that almost cost him the fight.

Joshua was not overly troubled by the combination, but it was the best attack of an entertaining first round and left the champion's nose streaming blood.

"We will go away now and try and make a fight with Wilder", Hearn said.

"They mentioned if it's not [Deontay] Wilder it'll be [Dillian] Whyte, there's no mention of Tyson Fury, the lineal heavyweight champion of the world".
