Here's where Tropical Depression Kirk is Sunday and where it's going

Hurricane Isaac along with concurrent storms Hurricane Helene and tropical storms Gordon and Joyce were all relegated to obscurity by Hurricane Florence.

Kirk is moving "quickly westward" at 24 miles per hour, according to the NHC at 5 a.m. on Sept 24, and it has 35 miles per hour winds.

Leslie, which has 40 mph winds, has changed little in strength over the past 24 hours, according to the NHC in its 5 a.m. update.

Conditions are expected to become conducive for the low to acquire subtropical or tropical characteristics, and a subtropical or tropical cyclone is likely to form by early next week while the low meanders over the central Atlantic Ocean. As of 11 a.m., the system was about 350 miles east of the Windward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 25 mph, moving west at 12 mph.

The latest National Hurricane Center Kirk storm track is still closely following a blend of the GFS, ECMWF, and HFIP Corrected Consensus model along the southern edge of the guidance envelope. So far, none of these systems are expected to have direct impact on the Florida peninsula. There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect.

Tropical Storm Kirk is located 450 miles south of the southernmost Cabo Verde Islands.

One possible storm down and two to go, with another maybe in the wings. "An eastward motion at a faster forward speed is forecast tonight and Tuesday", according to the agency.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Kirk chugged across the southern Atlantic on a westward heading toward the Lesser Antilles. Some strengthening is expected in coming days, but forecasters say Kirk is likely to begin weakening later in the week.

Leslie is about 1,245 miles (2,005 km) west of the Azores, moving southwest at about 5 mph (7 kph).
