He’s back! Tiger Woods a victor again for first time since 2013

"That's what this represents for me is the consistency that I've had this year, the amount of top 10s that I've had, the ability - the fact that I was able to at least keep that form going through the playoffs, obviously finishing with three top-5s".

Chasing a first win since 2013 and the 80th PGA Tour title of his career, Woods took a three-shot lead over Justin Rose and Rory McIlroy into the last day at East Lake and the 14-time major victor was never in serious danger of getting caught.

With the win Woods maintained his record of never having lost after leading by three shots or more going into the final round and it puts him just two wins away from the all-time career-championships record held by Sam Snead.

"Some of the other players knew what I was struggling with".

Hobbled by back problems since 2014, Woods underwent spinal fusion surgery a year ago and returned to competition in December.

"From one goat (greatest of all time) to another I can only imagine what @TigerWoods is feeling today", tweeted Michael Phelps, the most successful athlete in Olympic history. "Have fun out there today my man!"

Thousands of fans spilled on to the 18th fairway to follow Woods to the green chanting "U-S-A" and "Tiger, Tiger" after his approach found a bunker on the edge of the green.

"I knew I didn't want a 3-footer around that cup, that's for sure", Rose said.

The Galaxy A7 will appeal to consumers in Asia who don't have a huge budget but want a phone with excellent camera capabilities. Internally an undisclosed octa-core chipset is running things, with 4GB and 64GB onboard storage designated for the SA model.

With career earnings at nearly $1.7bn, he is the second-highest paid athlete of all time after Michael Jordan, according to Forbes magazine. "I can't believe I pulled this off".

What is Tiger Woods' Ryder Cup record? "And golf is better for it", he added.

A few times this season he'd come close to a win.

Last month, Woods had said he felt this season was one of the finest of his career.

"When you have such a long time between victories, getting that first one is the most important", Robert Littal, editor at website Blacksportsonline, told Al Jazeera.

"It's been tough. I've had a not-so-easy last couple of years", he said.

Woods, who returned in January after missing nearly the entire previous two years with a debilitating back injury, held a three-shot advantage heading into the final round.
